Hotel Parador de Alcalá

I visited Oaxaca and stayed here during Mother’s Day. They celebrated us with cupcakes and a photo area. The breakfast is phenomenal and free! There are additional items you can purchase such as green juice. The staff has great recommendations and everything is walking distance! The pool that’s on the roof is perfect after a long day in the city, there’s even a small bar up there with the sweetest lady who brings your drinks to the pool. Can’t wait to go back!

My partner and I didn’t stay here, but paid to use their pool one afternoon. It’s a tinier pool rooftop, but was a very reasonable price to use the rooftop/pool and enjoy some delicious food/drinks. Our server was super friendly and amazing (loved her!), and definitely would have gone back for another pool day had we stayed longer.

Cannot beat the location! Front desk staff friendly. Rooms were very clean, kept cool, refilled water bottles. Made airport transfer really easy. Walkable all over centro and beyond. Overall really enjoyed our stay. We never ended up eating there so can’t speak to the food but the drinks were fine. Two cons: our room was right off the restaurant so every morning we woke up to the sound of the espresso thing banging around and two the pool is up a million stairs (that’s just me being lazy).

Everything was a short walk away. The facilities were beautifully maintained, service was impeccable & the breakfast was absolutely top notch. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Oaxaca.

A perfect location for visiting both the large markets and many cultural spots. Excellent large free breakfasts. Outstanding local Oaxaca coffee. We loved the quiet rooftop patio and small pool, an oasis of peace after busy days. Super kind and friendly staff. Clean! I would give them 10 stars if i could!

This hotel was an excellent choice for our six-night stay in Oaxaca. Our room (room 14 on the second floor) was spacious and comfortable with a small balcony. Housekeeping was thorough and efficient. The location is fantastic for exploring the city, and the free breakfast was convenient and tasty. Hospitality staff were immediately available to carry our heavy luggage to our room and then to the airport shuttle at checkout. (The shuttle was easily arranged with the travel group in the lobby.) The front desk staff was very helpful and should be recognized for excellent service, especially Flor. We would absolutely stay here again!

The service at this hotel is exceptional, with front desk staff delivering a level of attentiveness and efficiency that rivals any five-star property. Departure was handled seamlessly, from arranging taxis to having bellmen collect luggage precisely on schedule. The beds are notably comfortable, complemented by high-quality bedding that ensures restful sleep. In terms of accommodations, the Superior Suite, while smaller in scale, offers a sense of comfort and intimacy, whereas the Junior Suite provides an impressively spacious layout. That said, the television in the Junior Suite feels undersized for viewing from the bed. Breakfast is adequate and offers a solid start to the day, though it does not stand out as a highlight. As other guests have observed, the lighting could benefit from adjustment; a simple change in bulb tone would significantly enhance the overall ambience. Maintenance and responsiveness were also excellent—an issue with the sink was resolved swiftly and discreetly, completed by the time we returned from daily activities. Overall, this hotel combines comfort, thoughtful service, and reliable hospitality, making it an excellent choice for a stay.

We had a wonderful experience here and will definitely return! This hotel is welcoming and well-appointed, right in the middle of everything. From the front desk to the bell services and the restaurant staff, we encountered nothing less than stellar service. A huge thanks to the hospitality team - top notch in every regard! I do wish the rooftop was open later. We didn't get to take advantage of the pool or bar since it closes by 7pm and we were out most days. It would have been wonderful to relax by the pool or bar in the evening. Maybe next time!
